Trent Allan is one of the OG’s (Original Guys) who attended the first CODE BLACK experience back in 2016.
A High Achiever in business and life who at the end of the day could have easily stayed in his comfort zone and outperformed the majority of men around him.
Trent, like most men who resonate with the RISING KINGS message felt that there was something more to give in this short experience we call life.
That by sitting still and resting on what he had he was simply taking the easy way out and knew that eventually that would lead to boredom and unfulfillment.
And so Trent made the decision to listen to the RISING KINGS call out, to invest in himself and be part of a Brotherhood that is changing the entire way we as men play the game and the rest is history.
I recently met up with Trent to discuss the impact that RISING KINGS and the CODE BLACK experience has had on his life and below is his word for word response.
The question now begs – ARE YOU NEXT?
WHAT WAS LIFE LIKE PRIOR TO ATTENDING CODE BLACK?
Life was pretty good. Year 2016 (the year I first met Ben) was my most successful year professionally having sold my shares in a fast growing micro brewery I had helped start just 5 years earlier. That year I had also purchased my first home, and landed a pretty dam good job working for someone else, which I really (and still do) enjoy having been an entrepreneur for most of my professional life.
Life wasn’t perfect though.
Even though I was doing very well professionally I was lacking in other areas of life. I had experienced times of what I can best describe as depression, I was single and wanting to be in a relationship, and now looking back I was living life quite ‘ad hoc’ with no real water tight vision or plan of where I wanted to go and who I wanted to be. Having read a lot of books and listened to podcasts which talked about successful people having a professional mentor I started to seek one out. This is how I found Ben Salkeld and is also how I found my way into the very first CODE BLACK program.
WHAT HAPPENED AT CODE BLACK?
Shit got hectic!
Not knowing a lot about what I was in for I rocked up 30 mins past the official start time, thinking I would be greeted by a few guys with big smiles, beers in hand and some interesting discussions about life, family and the week that had just gone. Instead, I got the biggest shock of my life walking into a situation where I felt almost sick to my stomach, nervous, doubting if I had made the right decision to be there.
It sounds dark, I know, but hear me out.
This is the best way I can possibly describe the positive effect CODE BLACK has on you. Nothing in life ever worth doing is easy and CODE BLACK is the perfect example of this. It was hard fucking work, both physically, mentally and emotionally.
After getting up at the crack of dawn each day for a very hard fitness session and mega-healthy breakfast, we sat down to work over the specially designed program (which, given we were the first intake I know has improved a lot since then) stopping regularly for discussion. We looked at all aspects of life, including health, business, relationships and your very important mental game. The weekend earned me some very good friends I still keep in touch with, and a renewed focus on getting the most out of life that is with me till this day.
AND WHAT HAS LIFE BEEN LIKE POST CODE BLACK?
It’s been just over 12 months since attending CODE BLACK, and in a recent one on one call with Ben to discuss my Q4 results, Ben asked me to reflect on the person I was back then in comparison to who I am now. It was only when thinking about this I had realised how much I had grown.
The big difference is just how more planned and structured my life is. I have a strict morning routine I follow every single day, each quarter of the year has an objective and projects that I set to complete, and I am generally just more in control of my life and able to dictate the outcome much better. I am also happier, I have a pet greyhound that I always wanted, a girlfriend that makes me smile everyday, and a renewed focus on being as good as possible at this game we call life.
IN YOUR VIEW, WHO IS CODE BLACK FOR?
No matter who you are or what stage of life you’re in there is a good chance you’re not perfect and have room to grow. CODE BLACK and the program Ben has designed get’s you that growth that you’re seeking. Whether you’re just starting out or are an established CEO of a large organisation, the program has something for you. It’s not an easy weekend away, it will test you, it will cause you some pain, but what you’ll get out of it will make it all worth it, just trust me on that.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR TRENT ALLAN?
I have grown a lot since the time I attended CODE BLACK but I still have a long way to go. Year 2018 is a year where I continue to get a lot done, push boundaries, but also focus on becoming the person I know I want to be.
